  • 2 pints - Strawberries (null)
  • 4 tablespoons - Sugar (tbs)
  • 4 tablespoons - Grand Marnier (tbs)
  • 1 cup - Cream (null)
  • 0.25 cup - Sour Cream (null)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries. Wash the strawberries. Remove the green leafy tops (hull them). Cut each strawberry into four pieces (quarter them). 2. In a medium bowl, combine the hulled and quartered strawberries. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons of Grand Marnier liqueur. Stir these ingredients together until well mixed. 3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. You can refrigerate it for up to 2 hours. Stir the strawberries once or twice while they are chilling. 4. Just before you are ready to serve, prepare the cream mixture. In a large mixing bowl, pour 1 cup of cold heavy cream. Add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar to the cream. 5. Using an electric mixer, beat the cream and powdered sugar. Continue mixing until the cream forms stiff peaks. Stiff peaks mean the cream holds its shape when you lift the beaters. 6. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in 1/4 cup of sour cream into the whipped cream. Mix just until the sour cream is evenly blended. Do not overmix. 7. To serve, first stir the chilled strawberries again. Divide the strawberries evenly among 6 serving glasses or bowls. You may spoon a little extra syrup from the bowl over the berries if you wish. 8. Spoon the cream mixture over the strawberries in each glass or bowl. You can use an ice cream scoop for a rounded portion of cream. 9. Serve the Strawberries Romanoff immediately. If you need to wait, chill the assembled desserts. Enjoy them within 2 hours of assembly.
